The Music Department at Midwestern State University has offices and classrooms in three buildings on campus: the new Fain Instrumental Music Building, the Hardin Administration Building, and the Fain Fine Arts Center. In 2010, the MSU Band Program moved into their new building on the east side of the Fain Fine Arts Center.
Akin Auditorium is the principal performing hall for music activities at Midwestern State University. Midwestern State University Music program activities take precedence over all other uses of the auditorium. Akin Auditorium will remain locked at all times unless opened by a responsible faculty or staff member.
The music office keeps a current calendar of concerts, recitals, and rehearsals for Akin. All students and faculty are responsible for scheduling rehearsals, recitals, and performances through the music office well in advance of the activity. Any use of Akin Auditorium by faculty or students may be reserved by completing an Akin Auditorium Reservation Form in the music office. Activities and recitals will be placed on the official calendar only after the form is completed.
