Prerequisites and Core Curriculum for the BSN Program

Prerequisites
The following courses must be completed with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.  A grade of “C” or higher is required on all science courses.  You may apply to the program while enrolled in these courses, but they must be completed prior to enrollment in NURS 3212 which constitutes formal admission to the nursing program.

Core Curriculum

The following courses are mandatory core curriculum requirements for the BSN degree.  It is not required that they be completed prior to admission to the nursing program.  Completed courses must reflect a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

        philosophy, OR a two-semester sequence of a foreign language)

Speech Communication, Voice and Diction, or Interpersonal Communications
Two different activity courses 
Fine Arts (music, art, or theatre) or  MCOM  2213 
Computer Competency (proficiency exam or introductory computer course) 
Writing Proficiency Requirement (Exam or ENGL 2113)
