The Artist-Lecture Series was established in 1964 to bring noted lecturers and quality programs in the performing arts to the MSU campus and the Wichita Falls community. The all-student Artist-Lecture Committee is pleased to invite your participation in this year's Artist-Lecture Series.

Note: Students, faculty and staff receive free tickets with a valid MSU Campus Card. Tickets for faculty, staff, and the general public can be obtained at the Clark Student Center Information Desk two weeks prior to each event. Students may obtain tickets three weeks prior to an event.

The duo of Master Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser and vibrant young cellist Natalie Haas will be presenting the music of Fraser’s homeland with unsurpassed eloquence, passion and energy. The duo has created a buzz among Celtic music lovers at festivals & concerts across the United States and Europe. Their performances have been featured on nationally-broadcast radio programs.

Diane Rehm

Diane Rehm is a native Washingtonian who began her radio career in 1973 as a volunteer at WAMU. She became host and producer of two health-oriented programs, and in 1979 was selected to host WAMU’s local morning talk show, Kaleidoscope, which was renamed The Diane Rehm Show in 1984. Rehm offers her listeners compelling conversations with the world’s most interesting and important people. During each hour, she invites listeners to join the conversation by opening the phones to their questions and comments on the topic at hand. Her award-winning program has been distributed to stations across the United States, Europe, and Japan. Among her many awards, she has been honored as a fellow by the Society of Professional Journalists, the highest honor the society bestows on a journalist.

The Guerilla Girls

In 1985, a group of women artists founded the Guerrilla Girls. They assume the names of deceased women artists and wear gorilla masks in public, concealing their identities and focusing on the issues rather than their personalities. Between 1985 and 2000, close to 100 women, working collectively and anonymously, produced posters, billboards, books and other projects to make feminism funny and fashionable. They are in the 27th year of successful social, global awareness activism.

Harlem Gospel Choir

The Harlem Gospel Choir will give you an extraordinary evening of foot stomping and hand clapping blues, jazz and gospel spirituals. From the heart of Harlem in New York City, the Harlem Gospel Choir travels the world as ambassador for African American culture, and is loved for it’s joyous music. The concert will be an extravaganza of joy, energy and celebration.

Bob Dole is recognized as one of the most prominent political figures of our time with a distinguished record of service. Raised on the plains of western Kansas, this tough, common-sense conservative from America’s heartland accumulated political achievements second to none. In addition to becoming the Senate Majority Leader and candidate for President, he also served as Chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, his party’s nominee for Vice President, a member of the House of Representatives, and Chairman of the Republican Party. He earned national acclaim for his leadership on behalf of the disadvantaged and Americans with disabilities and for his mastery of foreign affairs.
