Due to the continuous changes in the coding and billing industry, training in advanced coding has not only become a demand but a necessity. To conquer the coding and billing “game,” certain skills must be acquired and maintained. This course has been designed to increase the skills of personnel in the front office, those coding even the most extensive procedures, and the medical staff and providers. Complete details in CPT-4, ICD-9-CM, and HCPCS coding will be covered along with information on the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI), compliance and reimbursement issues, E&M guidelines and much more. Code by code details and tips are provided to ensure that the most in-depth knowledge is acquired. As a prerequisite to this course, a basic understanding of the CPT-4 (CPT), ICD-9-CM (ICD-9) and HCPCS coding principles should already be established. There will be brief introductions involving the “basics” of coding and then will span out to include the more in-depth information.
