Drug Convictions

If a student receives any Title IV federal student aid (grants, loans or work-study) and is convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs that occurred while receiving federal student aid, Title IV aid may be suspended due to this offense. A student may regain eligibility early by successfully completing an approved drug rehabilitation program. Additional details regarding drug convictions and financial aid eligibility is available in the "Worksheets" in the FAFSA information section. If a student has a conviction(s) for these offenses, he/she should contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at http://federalstudentaid.ed.gov/ or call 1-800-433-3243 to determine how the law applies to the student and to seek assistance in determining the period of ineligibility.
