Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) Fee Waiver(formerly TASP)

The Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) Fee Waiver is used to waive the cost of the state-mandated THEA test. To qualify for the waiver, a student must meet the following criteria:

  1. Has a -0- Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as per the current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), AND
  2. Is currently meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress, AND
  3. Has not previously received a THEA waiver during the same academic year.

The annual number of available waivers is limited. Students interested in the THEA Fee Waiver must contact the MSU Financial Aid Office at (940) 397-4214; if approved, the student will be required to mail the waiver with the THEA application.
