Thursday, Sept. 26     The 49th season of the Artist-Lecture Series opens with Dr. Drew Pinsky at 7 p.m. at Akin Auditorium. Pinsky, known to many simply as “Dr. Drew,” is a practicing physician, board certified in internal medicine and addiction medicine, and is a staff member at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Dr. Drew starred in the hit reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, which chronicled the struggle for sobriety and the cycle of addictive disorders of a group of celebrities. Dr. Drew is also the host of his own night show on HLN, Dr. Drew on Call, and is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show Loveline. Admission is $20 to general public; $18 for senior citizens, active-duty military, and MSU alumni; free to MSU students with ID. Tickets are available at the Clark Student Center Information Desk two weeks prior to the event. For tickets or more information, call (940) 397-7500.

*Remember; the Artist Lecture event may count as an "art" event or a "lecture," but NOT both!!

Midwestern State University will host a screening of Broadway and Tin Pan Alley, the second film in the series, America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway. Special guest moderator and performer will be former Wichitan and current Broadway producer Rich Affannato. The film will begin at 7 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU. Admission is free. For more information, call MSU Librarian Dr. Clara Latham at (940) 397-4757.
