Title: Computer Based Testing Center Specialist
Description: The computer-based testing center specialist serves as the administrator/proctor for all computer-based examinations provided by the Office of Testing Services and may be assigned specifically to support the Prometric examinations or other recognized testing services. The CBT specialist reports to the Director of Testing.
Examples: Upholds the professional standards and guidelines established by the National Collegiate Testing Association and by Prometric testing services, including the opening and closing procedures required of testing security measures. Administers on-campus computer-based examinations, including: GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, PRAXIS, NAPLEX, NBPMD, and NBPTS. Maintains security of all testing materials and equipment. Upholds confidentiality and integrity of testing results. Creates and maintains testing database of honoraria schedule for Testing Services. Prepares completed testing materials to be submitted for honoraria. Prepares and assists examinees prior to each computer-based examination. Shreds all scratch paper.
Physical Condition: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Experience: Previous experience in computer based testing is desired. A basic understanding of networking terms, computer operating systems, and MS Office software.
Knowledge: Knowledge of policies, procedures and changes effective in the Computer Based Testing Center.
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred. Maintain a current Certification of Authorization for Prometric test administration.
Additional Requirements: Punctuality for all scheduled shifts is imperative. Required to arrive at CBT one hour prior to testing administration. Courteous and friendly to all visitors of the testing office. Saturdays and some evening hours are required. May be required to attend conferences and/or training sessions. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
