Strength and Conditioning Coach
Responsibilities include but are not limited to implementation and scheduling of strength and conditioning programs for all sports. Works directly with the head coaches to design specific programs for each sport.
Oversee daily weight room workouts and on the field workouts. Direct student athletes in pre-practice warm-up and stretch and post practice conditioning and stretch. Oversee camp dietary menus and pre-game meals. Assist with team travel. Work with the Recreational Sports and Wellness Center on the scheduling of teams in the weight room. Assist with the maintenance of the weight room.
A minimum of three years experience as a head and or assistant strength coach at an NCAA institution or a professional team. Should also have some experience with meal and travel planning. Must have computer experience.
Must have a good knowledge of nutrition and of the rules and regulations of the NCAA.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.
Must have an understanding of all sports and the training principals behind them and be certified in strength and conditioning and/or weightlifting by an accredited organization. Must be able to design sport-specific speed, quickness, and agility workouts. Must be able to relate to and work with student athletes, coaches, faculty, and the general public. Heavy lifting required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
