Director, Academic Success Center
Reporting to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of the Academic Success Center oversees the Center’s personnel and budget. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a program of academic assistance designed to maximize the potential of the individual student, particularly first-year students and students for whom the university’s academic requirements are particularly challenging. Coordinates the development and scheduling of courses to meet the Center’s mission.
Collaborates with personnel in Academic and in Student Affairs to address students’ needs. Maintains appropriate records, prepares budget requests, and supervises Center office operations and personnel.
Minimum of three years’ relevant experience, including supervisory, budget oversight, and management responsibilities; preferably at a four-year institution of higher education.
Knowledge of the issues, trends, theories, and methodologies related to learning and student retention. Ability to follow generally accepted office practices and procedures and proficiency in the use of computers.
Earned graduate degree required, preferably in education or psychology; doctorate preferred.
Must be well-organized; posses excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; be able to work effectively with a diverse student body; and be able to set, plan, and achieve ambitious goals. *Regular reliable attendance is required.
