Associate Director, International Services
The Associate Director of International Services assists the Director in planning, implementing and maintaining a wide range of support services and programs for the benefit of foreign students, to include advising, recruiting, and office administration.
Advises individual students and assists them with their immigration documentation; assists with the organization and presentation of cultural programs; serves as a resource person for other members of the campus community on matters involving foreign students; assists in the interpretation of foreign transcripts; handles requests for information; prepares reports and manages office operations in the absence of the Director. Maintains and reports all SEVIS records and issues I-20, DS-2016 and other documents pertaining to immigration.
Previous experience in working with international students is strongly desired as well as some experience in personnel management and administration in a college setting. Working knowledge of SEVIS, familiarity with international school systems and examinations.
Should be knowledgeable in immigration law pertaining to students and scholars; know how to use personal computers as well as commonly used office software programs, such as Word, Excel and Outlook; and have a general knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
Masterís degree required.
Must be a student oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of constituencies; be able to prepare detailed reports with accuracy; and have the ability to interpret and explain complex academic requirements to individuals with limited knowledge of the American system of higher education. Incumbent should have facility or working knowledge of one foreign language, preferably Spanish. *Regular reliable attendance is required.
