Assistant Director, International Services
Responsible for providing general guidance to international students regarding academic and campus services. Assist in the adjustment process; enter and record data; clerical and front office duties; international inquiries. Process applications for admission and basic transcript evaluation. Learn the rudiments of SEVIS and basic immigration laws.
Assists in counseling students on academic requirements, financial planning, and legal compliance; organizing orientations; responding to applicants, assist in recruiting and fundraising.
Must have experience in working with a diverse group, assisting with adjustment issues, and respecting different cultures and their beliefs.
Must have some knowledge of or an aptitude to learn immigration laws and procedures. Knowledge of international educational systems, particularly the British system, is also preferred. Basic skills in the use of personal computers and commonly used computer software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Prefer knowledge of Banner software.
Bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences, business, humanities, or behavioral sciences, preferred.
Must be well organized and able to effectively communicate with one-on-one or with large groups. Must also be able to work discreetly with students on sensitive and confidential issues. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
