Title: Coordinator, Social Media
Description: Coordinates and supervises social media accounts for the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Determines the appropriateness of postings on social media sites by the public, considering the mission of the University. Responsible for promoting the university through positive and transparent communication in all public facets. Works closely with the university Webmaster and the Director of Marketing and Public Information to present a consistent and unified message through electronic media. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
Examples: Designs, updates, and maintains division websites as requested. Reviews, modifies, and updates the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division's web-pages on a daily basis. Edits all internal postings/publications for grammar, spelling, and appropriateness. Offers suggestions and technical assistance to department heads in the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management regarding their web presence and social media platforms. Maintains the division's Twitter account, Facebook account, YouTube account, and other social media platforms as necessary. Provides daily social media interaction that portrays the institution in a manner consistent with its mission, to prospective students, current students, and community members. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Condition:
Experience: Experience work with internet programming; experience with graphic design; experience with social networking; and experience with editing.
Knowledge: Must have a strong base in both internet programming and graphic design. Must understand the inter-workings of the most popular social networking platforms. Knowledge of generally accepted office practices and procedures, correct grammar, and spelling.
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Additional Requirements: Must possess excellent time management skills. Requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
