The University Post Office is an official postal contract station located in the South end of the Clark Student Center. It provides most services that are available from the main post office. Some exceptions are the selling of international money orders, hunting stamps, receipt of C.O.D. parcels, and Selective Service registration. No debit or credit cards are accepted. We gladly accept cash and checks, with proper identification. Sorry, no checks for money orders. Any outgoing International packages require a customs form attached to the package before mailing. This form must be completed by the customer, online from the USPS website at: https://cns.usps.com/go/ShippingInformationAction_input
Window service hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mail is usually received on campus by 10:00 a.m. each day, Monday through Friday. The mail is then sorted to the different addresses on campus. Mail is generally boxed by noon each day for those having a PO Box. Mail is delivered to the departments and Sunwatcher and Sundance residence halls generally in the afternoon. Mail is dispatched to the main post office at 4:15 p.m. ONLY. When postal holidays fall on a regular school day, the University Post Office will remain open and in full operation with the exception of no mail dispatch that day or money orders sold.
Mail box rental is included in housing fees for those students living in university housing. Mail delivery for students is only made to those living in the Sundance Court and Sunwatcher Village residence halls as those students have their own mail boxes. All other students living in University housing, or in campus overflow, will receive their mail at the P.O. Box assigned to them at the University post office. It is the responsibility of the student to come to the post office and set up their post office box. Other students or faculty desiring to rent a box must make separate payment to the MSU Post Office. Mail received at MSU is distributed only to those persons, departments, and organizations having boxes at the University Post Office. Any mail received for individuals not having a box will be returned to the sender.
The MSU post office is in contract with the US Postal Service. Therefore, we only use the US Postal Service to ship packages and mail. If you have a package with another carrier, such as UPS or FedEx, you will need to pay to ship those packages at their stores. The UPS Store is located at 3808 Kemp Blvd. Ste. B. FedEx is located at 3916 Kemp Blvd. Packages with prepaid labels for these carriers can be dropped off at their stores as well.
The mailing address for individual boxes should be as follows (examples only):
