This course is combined with the lecture course CHEM 1143 and is vital to the understanding of concepts, theories, and principles that are presented in the lecture class.
In this course, students will learn how to use different pieces of equipment, practices in chemistry, and most of all, analytical thinking skills.
Grading Scale:
A: 90 - 100%
B: 80 - 89%
C: 70 - 79%
D: 60 - 69%
F: < 60%
Assignment dependent, check with the instructor.
Attendance is required for this lab course.
Cell Phones, computers, PDA’s and other electronic devices are NOT allowed. Cell phones must be OFF during any scheduled class period.
Drop Policy: Last day to withdraw with an automatic grade of W: March 19, 2012
Dropping from the course after this date assigns a grade of F.
Other Requirements:
1) The goggles must be worn at all times while anyone in the lab is doing experiment.
2) No open-toe shoes are allowed in the lab.
3) Horseplay is NOT allowed in the lab room.
4) Students must read the assigned sections in the lab manual before coming to the lab.
