The Seminar will cover eight types of history. These will include History as Romance; History as Science; History's Reaction to Science; History as Philosophy; Universal History; History as Psychology; New History; and History by Vico.
Exam - 20%
Assigned student talks – 25%
Group Discussion and oral critiques – 15%
Term Paper – 40%
First two weeks: comprehensive exam over text. Next three weeks: lecture based on topics by the professor over historiography. Next four weeks: assigned talks by the students; Final five weeks: completion of term papers with oral critiques by the students.
Attendance is absolutely required for this core graduate course.
