TR 9:30 - 10:50 a.m.
To improve one's ability to tell stories by learning to control voice, narrative development, concrete details, and thoroughness of development.
To learn to read stories more perceptively so one can utilize those skills in one's own work.
To write and turn in two-page scenes at least every other week. These are geared toward improving story-telling skills, including management of dialogue, narrative thrust, and voice.
To turn in two complete short stories written during the semester. They should be five to twenty-five pages in length. These will be graded; the scenes will not.
Regular class attendance is mandatory. Excessive absences, determined by me, will have a negative effect on one's grade.
