Prerequisites: CHEM 1243 and concurrent enrollment of CHEM3504-11A (Lab)

Textbook (Mandatory): Girard, Principles of Environmental Chemistry, 2nd Ed.
Final grade will be given by combining grades of the lecture (3504-101) and the lab (3504-11A) with 60% from lecture and 40% from lab. Grade will be assigned as follows:
A: 90-100%
B: 80-89%
C: 70-79%
D: 55-69%
F: < 55%
Make-up for major exams will be given for excused absence only.

Attendance is required as stated in the Student Handbook. Excessive unexcused absences will result in an instructor drop with a grade of “F”.
Under no circumstances will make-up exams or extra assignments be given. Make-up for major exams will be given for excused absence only.
Calculators with large memory capacity, mathematical solution software, and chemistry software are NOT allowed on exams. Single-line scientific calculators are acceptable.
Cell Phones, computers, PDA’s and other electronic devices are NOT allowed. Cell phones must be OFF during any scheduled class period.
Drop Policy: Last day to withdraw with an automatic grade of W: Oct. 17, 2011
Dropping from the course after this date assigns a grade of F.
