Submission Format PolicyNote: You may not submit a paper for a grade in this class that already has been (or will be) submitted for a grade in another course, unless you obtain the explicit written permission of me and the other instructor involved in advance.

Late Paper Policy

Due Dates

Because everyone will be on a different clinical rotation, it would be impossible for me to set firm due dates for each Lab &/or Unit Exam.  You are required to complete 50% of all required course work (excluding Final Projects) by mid-semester.  This basically means any combination of 7 Labs & Unit Exams (1 & 6, 2 & 5, 3 &4, 4 & 3, 5 & 2, 6 & 1).  What combination you submit will depend on your rotations & personal preference. A grade reduction of 10% will be ascessed to each item you are short. If you only submit 5 items by mid-semester, your next two submissions will be penalized 10% each.

All course work (including Final Projects) are due by date posted on the course calendar.  Late submissions will be accepted until the designated date & time with a 10% grade reduction.

Clinical Rotations

If, for any reason, you are unable to complete a rotation through a particular modality, for example: radiation therapy, it is your responsibility to contact the Clinical Coordinators (Sheree or Ray) so they can make arrangements at another facility.


Plagiarism Policy Plagiarism is the use of someone else's thoughts, words, ideas, or lines of argument in your own work without appropriate documentation (a parenthetical citation at the end and a listing in "Works Cited")-whether you use that material in a quote, paraphrase, or summary. It is a theft of intellectual property and will not be tolerated, whether intentional or not.

Academic Dishonesty Policy

Academic dishonesty (cheating, plagiarism, etc.) will not be tolerated in this class and may result in suspension or dismissal from this course and from the program. Cases will also be referred to the Dean of Students for possible dismissal from the university.

Cheating includes, but is not limited to, (1) use of any unauthorized assistance in taking quizzes, tests, or examinations; (2) dependence upon the aid of sources beyond those authorized by the instructor in writing papers, preparing reports, solving problems, or completing other assignments; or (3) the acquisition of tests or other academic materials belonging to the university faculty or staff without permission.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the use of, by paraphrase or direct quotation without correct recognition, the published or unpublished works of another person. The use of materials generated by agencies engaged in "selling" term papers is also plagiarism. 

Participation

All students are expected to fully participate in all class activities, including lectures and discussions, demonstrations, presentations, small-group projects, and collaborative learning activities.

At all times, students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Professionalism includes establishing positive relationships and interactions with peers, colleagues, and faculty; attending respectfully to others who are sharing information with the class; being flexible to unforeseen changes in schedules and assignments.

Writing Proficiency Requirement All students seeking a Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University must satisfy a writing proficiency requirement once they've 1) passed English 1113 and English 1123 and 2) earned 60 hours. You may meet this requirement by passing either the Writing Proficiency Exam or English 2113. Please keep in mind that, once you've earned over 90 hours, you lose the opportunity to take the $25 exam and have no option but to enroll in the three-credit hour course.
