COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. To understand the effects of physical conditioning and on the human body.
2. To improve the cardiovascular fitness of students as a result of aerobic and anaerobic training.
3. To achieve a level of physical condition based on predetermined goals established by the student.
4. To develop an appreciation for fitness as a long-term activity for improved health, weight control, and cardiovascular condition.
COURSE PROCEDURE:
In addition to exercise, the course will consist of some lecture/discussion on fitness as it relates to cardiovascular fitness and weight control. General fitness appraisal will be done early in the semester through the use of basic fitness tests. This will allow students to monitor progress. The course is designed so students may set individual goals and work toward improving individual fitness levels as opposed to meeting a predetermined standard.
DRESS:
Dress appropriately for the activity. Good support shoes or running shoes recommended over tennis or aerobic shoes.Comfortable clothes that is appropriate for the weather conditions. Jeans are not appropriate for conditioning.

Participation: 100
Conditioning Log: 50
Skills Tests: Midterm: 50
Final: 50
ATTENDANCE:
Class will begin at 9:30 am on TR, 2 absences will be allowed during the semester with no penalty. Absences beyond 3 will result in a loss of 5 points per absence in your 100 participation points. After 8 absences, you will be dropped from the class. In certain circumstances, such as serious illness, a missed class can be made up with approval of the instructor.
