PARTICIPATION GRADE:
Each day a student attends class and participates in class activities, they will be given full credit for participation. To receive one’s participation grade students must actively participate in the entire class period. Attending, staying for a portion of the class, and then signing out will be treated like an absence. This participation will also include keeping a journal that tracks your progress and goals. This will need to be up to date and brought to every class. At any point I will ask for them to be turned in for review and participation credit will be given accordingly.
ATTENDANCE AND GRADING:
Each student will be graded on 3 criteria: attendance, participation, and their daily log. Students can not pass this course if they do not turn in a daily log. Each student is allowed 3 absences for MWF classes and 2 absences for TR classes. Each unexcused absence thereafter will affect the final grade in a negative manner. For MWF classes, once the student obtains a 4th absence the best grade one may obtain is a B, at the 5th absence—a C, at the 6th absence—a D. If students obtain a 7th absence he/she should drop the class or a grade of F will be received. For TR classes, once the student obtains a 3rd absence the best grade one may obtain is a B, at the 4th absence—a C, at the 5th absence—a D. If students obtain a 6th absence, he/she should drop the class or a grade of F will be received.
Any excused absence must be made up or it will remain an absence and will affect the student’s final grade in the same manner as an unexcused absence.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A GRADE OF “I” BE ISSUED
