The goal of this course is to cover the basic concepts of Right Angle Trigonometry and
Analytic Trigonometry. In addition, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Vectors, the Dot Product,
Complex Numbers, and Polar Coodinates will be introduced.
A graphing calculator is required (suggested make: TI-84. This calculator will be used by the instructor).
Three tests will be given during the semester.
The (compulsory) final exam will be comprehensive.
Semester tests and the final exam are closed book exams with the use of the calculator permitted and required.
Homework must be done on 81/2 x 11 paper and must be stapled.
Students will write their tests, and final exam on a provided test form.
Students are required to show all their calculations on tests.
Make-up tests will be given only in exceptional circumstances. Students must make the request for a
make-up test several days before the originally scheduled test.
Late homeworks will not be accepted.
Students must attend all lectures. Attendance will be verified at the beginning of every lecture.
Students who miss more than four lectures will be withdrawn from the course (with a grade of WF
if before October 19, 2011 or with a grade of F if after this date).
The course grade for each student will be the best of the following two evaluations:
