Course Objectives

SYLLABUS: The material for this course will be textbook sections

1.1‑1.6, 2.1‑2.6, 3.1‑3.4, 4.1‑4.6, 5.1‑5.7, 6.1‑6.7, 7.1 - 7.5, 8.1 - 8.5, 9.1 - 9.4, 9.7,  10.1 - 10.5, 11.1‑11.5, 12.1 - 12.5.  The midterm exam will be in about the eighth week of classes.


Grading Standards

Grades will be based on a percentage of total assignment points earned on a scale with  A >=90, 90>B>=80, 80>C>=70, 70 >D>=60, 60 >F. The assignments will be as follows:

11 weekly quizzes @ 10 pts = 100pts

x programs @ 10pts             = 50pts

2  hour exams @ 100 pts     = 200pts

1 final exam @ 100pts         = 100pts

paper/presentation               = 50pts

for a total of 500 pts.

Writing Proficiency Requirement All students seeking a Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University must satisfy a writing proficiency requirement once they've 1) passed English 1113 and English 1123 and 2) earned 60 hours. You may meet this requirement by passing either the Writing Proficiency Exam or English 2113. Please keep in mind that, once you've earned over 90 hours, you lose the opportunity to take the $25 exam and have no option but to enroll in the three-credit hour course.
