Course Purpose
This course is designed to help you strengthen and build effective strategies for creating academic and personal success. You will learn how to develop an individual approach to managing and processing information, perform more effectively on tests, think critically, problem solve, set & work toward reachable goals, & manage time more efficiently.

Grading Scale
The basis for your final grade is the number of points you earn on assignments, homework, tests, and final exam as well as your individual participation & teamwork.

Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class on the date specified.
If you are late to class and the instructor has already taken up the homework, your homework will not be accepted or graded.
No late work will be accepted or graded unless specific arrangements have been made with the instructor in advance of the due date.
Being absent from class does not excuse you from turning in assignments when they are due.
It is your responsibility to stay current with class notes & assignments.
Extra credit work is not offered.
You must have permission from your instructor to make up a test. A make-up test will be scheduled during the last week of the semester.
Class Attendance
ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED! Be in each class on time, ready to work!
Record your attendance with your signature on the attendance sheet.
If the attendance sheet has been taken up by the instructor before you arrive, you are considered absent.
Notify your instructor if you must miss a class.
Provide documentation detailing the reason for the absence.
IF YOU EXCEED 3 ABSENCES, YOU MAY BE DROPPED FROM THE COURSE WITH A COURSE GRADE OF “F”.
