This course is designed for students who have completed beginning and intermediate Spanish (four semesters) and are beginning advanced course work in Spanish. Students will be prepared for advanced Hispanic literature courses through the study of literary terminology, the process of literary analysis, and the development of literary genres in the Hispanic world, and through the application of this knowledge to specific texts of Hispanic literature. Students will be able to analyze the unique qualities of narrative, poetry, and drama. Students will improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in the Spanish language as well.
