Class Attendance
You are expected to attend class regularly and are responsible for notes, homework assignments, and exams missed while absent. Attendance (or lack thereof) directly affects the course grade. Attendance is considered very important in this course.
Student Attitude
Once class starts, the use of cell phones, reading of newspapers, conducting private discussions, using the computer (unless requested by the instructor), working on anything that is not directly related to the course, and making derogatory remarks about your classmates or instructor will not be accepted and may result in your dismissal from the class. Poor student attitude directly affects the course grade.
Course Grade
The final grade for the course will be based on the exam scores and average of the scores earned on the homework assignments. Exam I, II and III contributes 85% of the course grade (Note: each exam counts for 28.33 %). Tthe homework assignments contribute 15%. The overall average score (X) for the course is determined as follows:
X = .85• (Average of exam I score, II and III) + .15• (homework average)
The final letter grade for the course is based on the value of X and is determined from the table below. Note that a score of 90% or above guarantees an A, 80% and above guarantees a B, etc.

Late Assignments
Homework assignments must be turned in on the due date, at the beginning of class. Once class starts, no homework will be accepted. Do not ask one of your classmates to turn in an assignment for you. It will not be accepted. Turn in your homework on neat paper and in an organized manner.
Exam Make-up
You are expected to take all exams on the scheduled date and time. However, if for some acceptable reason you are not able to do so, then you must inform the instructor in advance. The instructor will then decide whether you will be allowed to take a make-up exam, depending on the validity of your excuse.
Attendance is very important to see which material is stressed and will help to perform much better in the class.
