Lectures: MW 4:00 – 5:20 PM --- Bolin Hall 311
Course Subjects: Elementary geometry from an advanced point of view. An axiomatic study of Euclidean geometry plus additional topics which may include finite geometries and non-Euclidian geometries. This course is appropriate for those seeking 8-12 mathematics teacher certification.

Prerequisite: MATH 2133
Materials: A compass and straight edge.
Course Evaluation: Homework problems will be assigned and graded. The homework will count as 25% of the final grade. The material in the homework will also be evaluated by a variety of other methods: announced/pop/take-home quizzes, short student presentations (board work), and student participation in small groups. The quizzes/presentations/group work will count as 15% of the final grade. Also, there will also be two In-class/ Take Home Exams which will each count as 20% of the final grade. Finally, there will be a cumulative Final Exam which will count as 20% of the final grade.

Make-ups for exams and quizzes will only be allowed for a university approved excuse in writing. Wherever possible, students should inform the instructor before an exam or quiz is missed.
Letter Grades: The final letter grades will be determined by the following scale:
A --- 90% and above
B --- 80% - 89%
C --- 70% - 79%
D --- 60% - 69%
F --- 59% and below
