Research and Publications

July, 2008                Presenter at Sigma Theta Tau International 19th International Nursing Research Congress in Singapore.  Presented a powerpoint discussion regarding the way in which the hospital nurse educators and the Regional Simulation Center lab mentors worked together using high fidelity simulation to validate annual competencies for approximately 900 members of the nursing staff at a local hospital.  Presented in a symposium focused on three components of the implementation and evaluation of the Regional Simulation Center.  Presented with Dr. Susan Sportsman, Dr. Kathleen Roberts and Marcy Beck; additional authors of the project included Pam Bradshaw, Robin Lockhart and Michelle N. Watson.

September, 2006              Presenter at Texas Society of Allied Health Professionals Annual Conference at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.  Working with Debra Pardue, Respiratory Therapist, and Molly Lee, Registered Nurse and Director of the Regional Simulation Center, developed a multidisciplinary hospital in-service for nursing and respiratory therapists for competency validation of FAST (Team) advanced airway competencies using simulation based training.
