Student Development and Orientation
For the first year ever, Midwestern State University offered Engagement Week, a week-long programming series featuring around 40 different opportunities for students to enhance self-awareness, peer connections, leadership abilities, and achieve a greater sense of belonging to the campus. The event took place September 15-21.
The idea behind Engagement Week stemmed, in part, from recent data showing entering MSU students were not connecting to the campus, fellow students, faculty/staff, organizations, or involvement opportunities at the desired level. Several departments and student organizations were invited to participate and contributed to the success of Engagement Week by sponsoring great activities during the week, but it was Kevin Bazner who led the project and coordinated the effort for the benefit of the entire student body.
