Monday

8 a.m.   Student Bonfire T-Shirt and Coat Donation Drive Begins

Bring a T-shirt from another university to CSC 194 and exchange it for a free Mustangs T-shirt. T-shirts collected from other universities will be appropriately disposed of at the Homecoming Bonfire.

8 p.m.   Lip Sync Competition

Akin Auditorium. Get a team together and compete to see who can best lip sync and perform to a creative mix of popular musical rhythm and rhymes. Organization/team must "tell a story" and promote the homecoming theme. *

 

*All teams must pre-register for Homecoming competitive organization activities with the Office of Student Development and Orientation.

Tuesday

7 p.m.   Comedian: Ryan Reiss

CSC Comanche Suites. Ryan’s quick wit, instant likeability, and unique way of engaging any audience has made him one of the most sought after M.C.’s in the New York clubs, and a favorite audience warm up performer.

7 p.m.   MSU Men's Soccer vs West Texas

Support the Mustangs as they take the pitch against the rival Buffalos from West Texas.

Wednesday

11:30 a.m.   Chuck Wagon Picnic / Maverick's 7th Birthday Party

Mesquite Dining Hall. Lunch, entertainment, and our very own Mascot’s 7th birthday party!  Free for anyone on an MSU meal plan, otherwise, only $4.

7 p.m.   Artist-Lecture Series: Shaunette Hilabrand

Akin Auditorium. Shaunette Hildabrand graduated magna cum laude from Midwestern State University in 1985 and continued her vocal studies in New York City until 1991 when she moved to Europe. She is active as both a classical and jazz singer, but it is especially in the European jazz scene that she has established popularity among both musicians and audiences. Besides being the featured vocalist for Frank Roberscheuten’s Hiptett, Three’s A Crowd, The Swingcats, and the Echoes of Swing Orchestra, Shaunette has performed with such musicians as Franz Jackson, Truck Parham, Harry Allen, Eddie Locke, and Hazy Osterwald. Tickers are free for MSU students, faculty, and staff the CSC Information Desk (MSU I.D. required).

Thursday

4 p.m.   Legacy Walk

Legacy Walk induction for Robert D. and Carol Gunn at the Gates of Hercules (stone column sculptures).

5 p.m.   T-Shirt Exchange Closes

6:30 p.m.   Fuzzy Ray Classic Basketball Tip-off Dinner & Auction

$25 per person. Sikes Lake Center.

9 p.m.   Torchlight Parade

A fiery serpentine of MSU students will make its way to the Homecoming Pep Rally & Bonfire, led by the MSU Cheerleaders and Golden Thunder Band.

9:15 p.m.   Homecoming Pep Rally & Bonfire

Support the Mustangs and hear from players and coaches during a raging inferno of spirit. Highlights include the Lip Syn’c finals and performances by the Cheerleaders and Golden Thunder Band.

10 p.m.   Mustang Madness

Friday

10:30 a.m.   Golden Grads Alumni Brunch

CSC Kiowa Ex-Students Dining Room. Honoring the Class of 1963.

12:30 p.m.   Fuzzy Ray Classic Golf Tournament

The Champions Course at Weeks Park. Shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Four-person scramble. $100/person or $75/Alumni Association member. Includes green fee, golf cart, food, and tickets for 2 to the Fuzzy Ray Classic Basketball Tip-Off Dinner & Auction on Wednesday, October 16.

5-7 p.m.   Fish Fry

Sikes Lake. An annual favorite of university alumni. Serving catfish, french fries, hamburgers, hushpuppies, drinks, and more. Prepared by the Kiowa Kooks. The Fish Fry is free for anyone on an MSU meal plan; otherwise only $8 per person (children under 6 free).

6 p.m.   MSU Cardboard Boat Race

Get your building skills ready for this ever popular and growing tradition at MSU. Build a boat and race across Sikes Lake. *

6 p.m.   MSU Women's Soccer vs Commerce

Support the Mustangs as they take the pitch against the rival Lions from A&M Commerce.

8-10 p.m.   Friday Night LIVE: Concert & Competition

Between Pierce and Killingsworth. Live music, carnival games, and free prizes!

6:30 p.m.   Tailgate Party and Competition

Memorial Stadium. Show us what you’ve got at the annual tailgate party. Decorate your car, tent, RV, or parking space using this year’s theme. Deliver your best food, to the judge’s booth located at the stage to show off your cooking skills. *

8 p.m.   MSU vs West Alabama

The BIG game at Memorial Stadium. Don’t miss the halftime ceremony featuring the unveiling of the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen and their court.

1 p.m.   MSU Women's vs Texas Woman's

Purchase your 2013 MSU Homecoming T-shirt for $10 from the Office of Student Development and Orientation. Supplies are limited. T-shirts will be available beginning Monday, October 7.
