Transfer Student Defined
You are considered a transfer student if you have been accepted into MSU and will be bringing 18 or more non-developmental transferable credit hours with you.
The Admissions Office website of Transfer Information has a complete list of all the things you need to be aware of as a transfer student to make the transition to MSU easier.
Transferring in Credit
To meet the requirements of your particular degree plan, you may be able to use transfer credit earned at another institution. However, acceptance of credits in transfer does not guarantee that they will be applied toward your degree.
Application of these credits to your chosen degree at MSU will be determined by your major program. Credits listed may be allowed to substitute for the academic foundation requirements at the discretion of the college dean.
A maximum of 69 semester hours of community college work may apply to a degree program.
Remember, the more information you share with your advisor about your academic experience, the more likely you will succeed in selecting the correct classes you need.
