Title:
Program Coordinator, Intensive English Language Institute (IELI)
Description:
The IELI Program Coordinator teaches full time each long semester and summer unless otherwise prescribed. Supports the Assistant Director in the development and oversight of the IELI program. Works directly with International Services regarding registration. Creates reports and distributes to SACM and ITAF as needed. Responsible for the integrated study of English as a Second Language (ESL) for international military personnel. Assists in the scheduling and paperwork of employing adjuncts. Creates or modifies curriculum as needed for the program. Assists in the management and updates to website. Reports directly to the Assistant Director, IELI. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Examples:
Teaches full time in various levels of mastery for IELI. Manages the daily activities of the pre-academic IELI students. Available for tutoring as needed. Responsible for correspondence with International students accepted into program. Gathers grade reports from teachers. Supports the Assistant Director in the registration, testing, and placement of students and the scheduling of classes, including classroom assignments. Assesses student needs and goals and develops appropriate new and innovative curriculum content at all levels of instruction. Assists adjunct instructors and provides mentoring and feedback; helps faculty integrate technology into the curriculum in the Smart classrooms, computer labs, and Media Center.
Physical Condition:
Experience:
Two years experience in teaching ELS/EFL to an adult population. Requires experience with word processing and data base computer programs. Experience in creating and delivering professional development opportunities. Managerial experience strongly desirable.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of teaching methods in English as a second language. Knowledge of personal computers and commonly used office software programs. Knowledge of office practices and procedures and personnel management. Knowledge of program marketing techniques.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field, required. Master's degree and Advanced Certification in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) strongly preferred.

Must have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. * Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check
