Director, Career Management Center and Testing Services
Responsible for the overall daily operations of the office as well as overseeing all programs and activities conducted to provide student career opportunities and university testing services. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
Provides strategic direction, visionary leadership, budgetary oversight, supervision, staff development, and training. Conducts presentations, works individually with students and alumni, designs and maintains the office website. Implements an effective marketing approach and develops and initiates new services. Compiles statistical information utilized in annual reporting, strategic planning, and various accreditation efforts. Promotes an environment of collaborative and cooperative involvement within the division and across the campus community. Cultivates collaborative relationships with on and off campus constituents; serves on university committees; and adheres to the ethical standards set forth by the appropriate professional organizations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of three years of progressive, responsible, administrative/supervisory experience in career services and/or testing programs, preferably at a four-year college or university.
Must have extensive knowledge of planning and conducting training and professional development programs. Extensive knowledge of labor markets, employment administration, career services, and testing and measurement techniques. Knowledge of accepted office practices and procedures and use of personal computers. Skill in the use of commonly used office computer software such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, as well as career management and testing services software programs.
Requires a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
Must have highly developed written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Must have the presence and poise necessary to interact effectively with executive level management. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
